On Facebook the Combined Refugee Action Group say:

“In the upcoming federal election, BE VERY CAREFUL HOW YOU ORDER YOUR PREFERENCES!
If your preferred candidate does not obtain enough of the primary vote, your vote will be allocated to your next preference. This process will continue until your vote rests with the candidate who gains more than half of the total number of votes.
Research the policies of all candidates in your electorate, and order your preferences accordingly (First = best policies; last = worst policies). We’ve done the research on the three major parties for you.
